Abstract

In conducting this research the objectives of research is To find out the questioning strategies used by the English Teacher of SMA Negeri 1 Poso. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative method. In this research, the role of researcher in the class is as observer. The researcher observed the process of learning in the classroom of using questioning strategy and researcher used documentation (video during the lesson). The location of this research is in SMAN 1 Poso Kota is located on Jl. Ki Hajar Dewantara, Poso Kota Utara. The researcher used three instruments to collect the data, they were observation, video recording and interview. The finding of the research obtains that the questioning strategies used by the English teacher of SMA Negeri 1 Poso, they are probing questions, factual questions, divergent questions, and higher order questions.
