Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effectiveness of Google Translate as a tool in teaching and learning Writing. This study used a qualitative approach with a literature review type of research. The subject of this research was the article as a data source, then analyzed descriptively by taking the contents of the article needed in the study.The results of obtained from this study stated that the use of Google Translate as a tool in teaching and learning Writing is more effective, there are two aspects that benefit from using Google Translate as a learning tool, the first aspect is the teacher and the second aspect is the student. For the first aspect the teachers benefits from the convenience of checking student work because students write well, have good spelling, and good grammar and students write without missing a single letter, so that teachers can check student work well. For the second aspect students, learning to use Google Translate as a tool in learning is felt by students, where students find it helpful to write using Google Translate because they can write well. Students feel able to write with good grammar, vocabulary, and correct spelling so that this can increase students' academic confidence.
