Abstract

This research aims to determine whether there is a significant correlation between fourth semester students’ intrest and achievement of Academic Reading Subject in online learning at English Education Study Program of Sintuwu Maroso University. The research subjects consists of 18 students. Type of the research is quantitative descriptive method. The data is collected through questionnaire and documentation. Researcher uses the pearson correlation formula to determine the relationship between students’ interest (X) and students’ achievement (Y) of Academic Reading in online learning. The correlation symbol is “r”. The data are analyzed by using SPSS 17.0. The results show that the X Y correlation coefficient is 0.596 as the calculated r value. This means that the value of r count is greater than r table. This means that Ha is accepted, there is a relationship between students’ interest in learning and students academic reading achievement. The significance value of 0.009 is lower than 0.005. The significant value explains that there is a significant relationship between students’ interest in learning and students’ academic reading achievement. The interpretation of the coefficient r (0.596) is fair.
